A roundtable discussion "Prospects of the development of public-professional accreditation in Russian higher education" was held on December 23, 2014 on the platform of the All-Russia People's Front. V. Navodnov, Director of NCPA, took part in the event.

Vladimir Navodnov, Director of the National Centre for Public Accreditation, pointed out that nowadays the issue of education quality evaluation is as relevant as ever. Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, underlined that this problem is very urgent due to the fact that currently the Federal Law No. 273-FZ provides 8 types of control.

"There is the news that 1800 inspections are planned for 2015, and the question is whether we want to improve education quality or make the system work for reports? If we want to enhance education quality, we should give HEIs an opportunity to work".

Summing up his presentation, V. Navodnov identified the following important areas: antimonopoly policy in the sphere of education, independence of evaluating body and accreditation of accrediting agency itself.
