9th ENQA Forum

On April 24-26, 2019 the 9th Forum of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education, ENQA was held in Tallinn (Estonia) at Tallinn University. The Estonian Quality Agency for Higher and Vocational Education, EKKA hosted the event.

130 representatives of quality assurance agencies from ENQA member countries participated in the Forum.

РThe National Centre for Public Accreditation, the National Accreditation Agency and Russian Register represented the Russian Federation.

The following issues were discussed on the first day of the Forum:

- «The European Universities Initiative» (Vanessa Debiais-Sainton, Head of Unit, Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport and Culture, European Commission);
- «The landscape of higher education in 2020 and beyond» (Bert van der Zwaan, Professor, former rector of Utrecht University).

Cristina Ghitulica, ENQA Board member and Vice President of ARACIS, opened the second day of the Forum. She spoke on the topic «The future of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) – Quality Assurance Agencies’ priorities in the Bologna Process». The breakout sessions were devoted to the issues of future developments of the ENQA Agency Reviews, SWOT analysis and ENQA’s strategic plan for 2021-2025.

Besides, the programme included the panel discussion on the expectations of quality assurance agencies for the developments of the EHEA.
